Hello from Petén, Guatemala …
Supporting Village Pastors
Pastor Pedro has faithfully served and pastored his community in Centro Campesino over 25 years. He also trains pastors and helps them plant churches all across Northern Guatemala. We count it a privilege to partner with him in this endeavor in whatever capacity we can. Usually, we are asked to provide the roof for a new church plant. We recently provided roof number 6 for a new church in San Andres. Pastor Pedro’s latest church plant is in Alta Verapaz, Petén. And one congregation near the Honduran border has already outgrown their new facility. I’m sure we’ll be putting up a new roof soon.

Pastor Mateo of El Limón has almost completed his pastoral home and it is beautiful. Our home church, Cornerstone Church of Liberty, TX, were the first to sow into Pastor Mateo’s home and the church plant in El Limón in February 2017. Recently, we bought the door and two windows for their home and we celebrated by taking his family on a special outing for lunch on the lake. It is so exciting to see them grow and prosper.

Outdoor Kitchen (L)
Pastor Byron & Angelina in Se’pur are moving forward in the construction of the new church building. In February we visited their home in the village of Se’pur and blessed them and another family with food and gifts. Also, we were able to provide funds to finish the floor and the plaster on the walls, inside and outside. Please pray that they will be able to get electricity soon.

Education
In February most public schools were allowed to finally begin the school year. We had the privilege to provide school supplies for 54 students in the school in El Limón. We are also pleased to scholarship 19 students this year in various levels of education from secondary school to university.

A New Opportunity through Christian Education
We are very excited about a new opportunity to help further education for students in rural villages. We have joined with missionary colleagues Jimmy and Shelley Dinsmore to build a Christian Elementary School. In February we helped interview several candidates for a school director and teachers. In March we had a ground breaking celebration to mark the beginning of construction for the first 2 classrooms, bathrooms and administration building. Classes are slated to begin January 2023. We are working together to raise funds to complete the first phase of construction, to furnish each classroom, and to supplement tuition to keep costs low for Kekchi village children. Please pray about how you can help us with any of these areas.
